BEU mandatory internship, explained.

The common norm across BEU-affiliated colleges — which semesters, how many hours, what your department actually checks — and the honest limits of what any training provider can promise.

Four facts that govern your file

3rd · 5th · 7th semesters

The widely followed pattern: early exposure, then a genuine build, then a pre-placement stint. Departments vary the schedule — your HoD’s version governs your file.

~120 hours over 4–6 weeks

Roughly twenty focused hours a week. A program whose weekly deliverables cannot plausibly fill that time cannot honestly fill the norm either.

Individual work only

Group certificates sharing one project report are the most common reason departments reject a submission. Your submissions, report, and viva answers must be your own.

Credit is decided by your college

No provider grants credit or promises acceptance — not us, not anyone. The T&P cell and HoD judge whether a verified record satisfies the requirement.

Exposure, then a build, then a portfolio

    3rd semester · exposure

Learn how an engineering task is documented: dated weekly submissions, reviewer feedback, and a first complete report file.

  2. 05

    5th semester · the build

The round that usually carries the primary credit weight. A genuine project with reviewed deliverables and a defensible viva file.

  3. 07

    7th semester · pre-placement

Work that reads like an interview portfolio: a deployed build or documented design with honest evaluation behind it.

No. 03 · What colleges check

The four documents behind every genuine record

  • —A published week-by-week syllabus — what was taught, in what order
  • —An assessment rubric — what “passing” meant, in concrete terms
  • —The student’s own submission record — what this student submitted and how it was graded
  • —An online verification lookup the T&P desk can test in seconds, with no login
Honest boundaries

What no provider can promise

  • —No academic credit or guaranteed acceptance; your college decides.
  • —No AICTE approval or university affiliation; we reference public guidelines for structure.
  • —No placements, jobs, or stipends tied to training.

No. 05 · FAQ

Asked by BEU students every week

Which semesters require an internship under BEU?

BEU-affiliated colleges commonly expect internship exposure around the 3rd, 5th and 7th semesters, with the 5th-semester filing often carrying the primary credit weight. Departments compress or shift this schedule, so confirm the exact version with your own T&P cell and HoD before planning anything.

How many hours does the internship need?

The figure you will hear most often is around 120 hours spread over four to six weeks — roughly twenty focused hours a week. Hours alone prove nothing without output: departments look for a dated trail of weekly submissions, feedback, and revisions.

Is the work individual or can we submit as a group?

Individual. Group certificates where several names share one project report are the single most common reason departments reject a submission. Even when you learn alongside a cohort, your submissions, report, and viva answers must be your own.

Will my college accept a CannyIntern certificate?

That is decided entirely by your college — its T&P cell, HoD, and university norms. What we supply is the evidence departments ask for: a published syllabus, reviewer-graded submissions, a logbook file, and an instant online verification record. Ask your TPO to verify a sample record before you enroll.

Is the training online or offline?

Online-first with live mentor checkpoints: self-paced technical modules combined with scheduled reviews, doubt clinics, and viva preparation. Confirm with your T&P cell whether this format satisfies your department before enrolling — only your department can answer that.

What documents do I file with my department?

The complete file is the offer letter issued at seat confirmation, the week-by-week syllabus of your track, weekly logbook entries, your final project submission with its review record, and the training-completion certificate with its verification code.
